Solomon’s paintings deal with the figure and glimpse in to the settings in which his figures exist. The work explores themes of trans identity, relationships, intimacy, and how queer bodies occupy both private and public spaces. Solomon has built a painting practice that utilizes soft layers of transparent color and strong, fluid lines to build his images. He has also created ceramic sculptures and explored garment making and pattern construction. Even when utilizing other mediums, Solomon has a tendency to use shapes and forms that reference or are in conversation with the body.
