Jackson Solomon
Born in Phoenix, AZ
Currently studies and resides in Baltimore, MD
Jackson Solomon is a multidisciplinary artist with a primary focus in painting. He is currently studying to attain a degree in painting at the Maryland Institute of Art and will graduate Spring 2025. Solomon grew up in Chandler, Arizona and currently resides in Baltimore.
Solomon’s work is often figurative, and explores themes of queer identity as a transmasculine person. Over time he has built a painting practice that utilizes soft layers of transparent color and strong, fluid lines to build his images. In the past he has also explored sculptural ceramics, as well as pattern making and garment construction. Even when exploring other mediums, Solomon has a tendency to use shapes and forms that reference or are in conversation with the body.
